6517B Digital SourceMeter

The 6517B is an updated version that replaces the earlier model 6517A (introduced in 1996). The application software of Model 6517A, which uses SCPI language commands, can run on the Model 6517B without any modifications. However, the Model 6517B offers several beneficial improvements and upgrades over the Model 6517A. Its internal backup battery memory buffer can store up to 50,000 readings, allowing users to record test results over longer periods and store more data and readings. The new model also provides higher reading rates to the internal buffer (up to 425 readings per second) and to external memory via the IEEE bus (up to 400 readings per second). Some connector modifications have been implemented to address modern connectivity and safety requirements.
